Businesses throughout the county are embracing Maryland's 375th Birthday with open arms. Some of our partners, going above and beyond the Discover St. Mary's County Card, are offering year-round specials such as meals, ales, and ice cream!
Do Dah Deli & Diner, located in Leonardtown, is one partner that has branched out from their Discover St. Mary's County Card offering to give customers a more creative way to celebrate this special year in our state's history. Everyday, Do Dah Deli & Diner is offering a breakfast special for $3.75. The breakfast includes 1 egg (any style), 1 pancake, 2 strips of bacon and a cup of coffee or tea! It's a great way to kick start your day.
In 1634, ale was considered a "necessary provision" by Lord Baltimore. So how better to commemorate Maryland's 375th than with a special ale? Brewer's Alley, a brewery located in Frederick, Maryland, in conjunction with Historic St. Mary's City, has created 1634 Ale. Made from ingredients that were available to the colonists, the ale's ingredients include molasses, malted rye, malted wheat, and caraway. The ale will be available for purchase in the upcoming months.
Bruster's Real Ice Cream of Hollywood, Maryland has caught the Celebrate 375 spirit as well. Stop by the Hollywood Bruster's anytime during 2009 and enjoy a delicious scoop of the special Maryland 375 Birthday Ice Cream! Inspired by the state's colors and with a hint of cake batter, this ice cream is a great way to celebrate!
